“Portal” is a critically acclaimed 2007 puzzle game produced by the infamous Valve Corporation. It was a small little thing, being released in the “Orange Box” bundle, which included such classics as “Half-Life 2” and “Team Fortress 2.” The game’s gameplay primarily features puzzles that consist of you, Chell, using the “Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device” to create inter-spatial portals to go through, all while being challenged by an artificial intelligence being named GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System).
“Portal” was a relatively small game, as it was just a little, unrecognizable thing on a bundle featuring much more popular games. However, the game quickly rose to a cult status, due to its perfect blend of features such as puzzles, action, and adventure. And, boy, did the blend of attributes pay off. “Portal” somehow manages to blend challenging puzzles, unique first-person action, and dark humor into one package. The humor isn’t forceful too; it’s as subtle as video game humor can get. “Portal” is the perfect game to knock out in one afternoon.
9/10- “Portal” perfectly blends challenging puzzles, unique action, adventure, and balanced humor into one package. "Are you ready to start thinking with Portals?"
