“The Good Dinosaur” is the upcoming Pixar film about a friendship between a young boy and a young dinosaur.
This trailer (and most likely the film) really tries to pick up that fresh sense of awe and wonder, but sadly that’s not what I’m getting here. The thing is, I feel like I’ve seen this movie before. While it doesn’t appear like it’s a total carbon copy, it definitely doesn’t feel authentic.
Here’s the thing: a movie that feels like it’s been done before doesn’t necessarily have to be bad, but there’s a problem when said film tries to invoke a sense of wonder. Though I could be wrong, those are the vibes I’m getting from this trailer.
If you look at the development problems this film has had in the past (release delay, director change), I could be true, which is a shame because of the setting that is normally unseen to Pixar.
I don’t think it’ll be a bad film by any means, but we’ll have to wait and see.
“The Good Dinosaur” will be released on November 25, 2015.
